To play a past day in Halfsies, tap THE ARCHIVE on the title screen and pick any open day; free iPhone players can replay the last 7 days, Halfsies Gold opens every day back to day one, and practice runs never change your streak or the leaderboard.
Missed Tuesday's cuts? They are still there. Here is how to get back to them.
Halfsies gives you three objects a day to cut exactly in half, and the daily only counts once. Your first run of the day is your score. But the old days do not vanish at midnight. Every past daily sits in the Archive, and you can go back and cut it again.
This guide covers where the Archive is, how many days you can open, and what a practice run does and does not change. Everything here is taken from how the current game works.
On the title screen, next to the main play button, there is a button labelled THE ARCHIVE. If you played yesterday, it shows your score from that day, for example "THE ARCHIVE · 241/300".
Tap it and a calendar of past days opens, newest first. Each tile shows the day number and what you scored on it:
Tap any open tile and that day's three objects load, in that day's modes, ready to cut.
On your very first day there is nothing in the Archive yet. The button stays faded until you have at least one past day to go back to.
This depends on where you play.
| Where you play | Past days you can open | Replays of today |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone, free | The last 7 days | 1 |
| iPhone, Halfsies Gold | Every day back to day one | 2 |
| Android | Every past day | 2 |
| Browser at /play/ | Every past day | 2 |
On a free iPhone, the Archive header reads "The last 7 days" and older tiles show a lock. Tapping a locked tile or the Open all days button shows what Gold includes. Gold also removes ads and adds a second streak shield each week.
On Android, Gold is not sold yet, so the game does not lock anything behind it. Every past day is open. The browser version at /play/ works the same way.
A run from the Archive is a practice run. It is for fun and for getting better. It does not rewrite your history.
At the end of a practice run, the game puts your new total next to your original one. You will see something like "PRACTICE · YOU 262/300 vs ON THE DAY 231/300" with a line underneath: "you beat your day by 31", "8 shy of your day" or "dead even with your day". If you never played that day, it says "PRACTICE RUN" and "You never played this one for real".
The Archive is for past days. Today's daily has its own replay. After you finish your first run, the play button changes to show your score, and you can replay today's three objects.
Free iPhone players get one replay of today. Gold riders, Android players and browser players get two. Like Archive runs, replays never count on the board. Your first run is the one that sticks.
New cuts arrive at midnight UTC every day, which is 7 pm in New York and 4 pm in Los Angeles during standard time.
Scoring in Halfsies is the lighter half divided by the heavier half, times 100, for each of the three cuts. A perfect day is 300. The weight comes from the drawn area of each piece, so a thin handle or a skinny tail counts for very little, and a big round body counts for a lot.
The Archive is the best place to learn that. A few ways to use it:
1. Replay your worst day. Find the reddest tile and cut it again. You already know which object fooled you. 2. Replay a day you missed. No pressure, no streak at stake. Good for learning a mode you have not seen before. 3. Try one object two ways. Cut where you first thought, then cut where you now think. The scale shows which instinct was closer. 4. Compare against your day. The "vs ON THE DAY" line is a simple way to check if you are improving.
For more on reading your numbers, see Halfsies Scoring Explained. For the cut types you will meet in old days, see all 16 game modes.

On a free iPhone, days older than a week are locked. Tapping one shows Halfsies Gold, which opens all of them.
No. Your score from the day stays on the tile. The practice result is shown next to it so you can compare.
